Status quo

A conditioning of impotence,

reaching for the salt when another swipes it first,

mounting silence in heavy boots, step upon step,

crags of volcanic history ignored by all

but you.

Buttons pop in flights of frustration,

and the weight of carrying baggage,

generations of status quo,

threatens to break your back

until

the ludicrous heart-heaviness and surge

for a real place in family becomes visible

for the impossibility it is.

Pitching the straps off your shoulders,

searing sight of that graveyard of the forgotten

rising skyward

into memory, you shake your head

at the Sisyphean absurdity,

turn around

and walk away.

The mendacity of the Father

The mendacity of the Father,

the for-your-own-good, you’ll-

understand-one-day,

spank you on the ass ruler of the house,

might there not be another way?

Look the white shark in the eye and see

what he claims to be is none other

than the abuse he forgets

once brought him to his knees.

Question where you came from,

you may find there’s a curse

invisible, iron gripped,

you alone can shake off.

Pain, unaddressed, is only fed

to the next generation who cling,

cling to the same pedagogy

that poisoned your once Free spirit..

Now’s the time-

reclaim it.

The naked Emperor

To what cost,

this silence?

Protecting normal, the naked Emperor,

who rots your bones of its mineral support,

your heart of its song,

your pelvis of its dancing motion,

your mouth of its natural speech.

Stop pretending.

And, with it, generations of loss.

Open the vault.

You may find yourself alone.

But the outcome

will be possession of your own soul.

Human walking

21 Tuesday Nov 2017

≈ Comments Off on Human walking

Born from uninitiated folk,

as most Westerners are,

creates holes in knowing that let icy winds enter.

Weaving oneself back together requires attention,

a briny commitment, earthly,

sight of an old fist-width rope tying the now to a millennia of then:

the family line.

Mostly invisible shoulders carry

the wobbling essential unformed

human walking known as you.

Start asking questions.

Underearth

Roots set in frosty, frosty ground

hugged by grit and worm and mole,

the slowlystretchinggrowing silence of

tips touching stonewetsoft.

Ears needn’t hear, nor eyes see-

vitality cups darkness

and nutrients find pathways

up up up

to light of day, and sharp starry sky.

The underearth knows quiet

and no-hurry, no-worry.

Sit awhile atop roots and wonder

just wherehowwho far

your own earth arms wriggle.

One day, she runs.

In the dark unfolding familiar

and friendless place

where place began,

a necessary and

deceptive

seed was planted.

Nourishing form, forgetting spirit,

growing grew and suckers spread.

A viral overload threatened.

Silently

soil

fed

resistance.

Until…

One day,

she runs.

From sick enclosure out into night,

thinly covered,

taking nothing, no shoes,

she bolts in a snap of a now! beyond

hallways, doors, gates,

with pounding heart, searchlight eyes, flying hair,

bare feet slapping pavement,

escaping by back ways known

intimately as the corners of her old room.

Rushing behind houses, through hedges,

ducking limbs, all chance of observance

and grabbing dominion.

Outside the limits,

with no objects to keep her,

by her own deliverance

she finds

her true way Home.

So it begins

So it begins

with

but They but They

and the story pretzels and snarls

morphs into a thorny thicket

of

Yes but.

So it begins.

Reaching in with pruners and magnifying glass,

a madness of

I will get clear!

muscles work, tire,

eyes pierce, squint, wrinkle-

strength and a certain Sight grow.

One silent morning arrives

with a way through,

not simply a way through,

a path clear- as intended-

and They

are long gone.

Suddenly, dust still in suspension,

the same pain jolts its head through packed earth

and there’s no

But They

anymore.

Only you.

And so it begins…

A third

≈ Comments Off on A third

What began with two,

seed and egg,

his and hers,

created a third.

Between yin and yang,

tension rising and released,

you became.

Where are the shared waters found?

How can the mother tongue be spoken?

Not knowing may bring lasting riches,

for in the search you find You.

Two kinks in her tail

frost on rooftops,
steam rising in ray of sun,
squirrel rests outside the window,
taking in a treetop view.
i dreamt of tortoise-shell kitty,
the feral girl with two kinks in her tail
who i buried so long ago.
calling urgently out the door
for my forgotten meow,
she came tearing up the wooden walkway
to jump in my arms.
glad to see ya, kiddo.
stay close,
let’s visit again soon.

Each day

The rock,
the dense coldness you carry, can’t put down,
shift endlessly hoping
for a more comfortable position-
that stone you think is solely yours
as it mopes and drags and cautions and weighs and snivels,
all while closeting the real pain?
Think it belongs to you?
Turn your head,
look back down the line.
Greet your inheritance.
It is simply your time.
Now, begin the work-
call forth the generations of people
whose blood you share, and
who’ve given you each celestial day
to awaken again.
