For the shes,

for the women who held in reserve everything but

what they betrayed in the fathoms of their eyes,

I dance for you,

let my laid-down hair fly

and skin sweat rivers

underarm and between thigh.

My laugh is the wild thing you withheld

and the leap it was never safe

for you to take.

The salt this body gives up,

one gift I can give.

Carry me to where your bones rest,

I’ll bring the skull I’ve been handed

when calling guides from the directions.

You’ve yet to reach my dreams

but when you do

I know

your unpinned hair will be the least

of what you bring to night sleep.

Lose yourself

Lose yourself.

Scare every inauthentic particle

right out

of your limitless sky.

Then you’ll see

what is truly, brilliantly yours

creates awe-inducing sunsets

upon divinity’s canvas.

Beauty wanders

Neither glabrous nor symmetrical,
lasting Beauty wanders
away from prescribed uniformity
and the wasted effort of rebellion.
In her,
the dynamism of bliss.
Fires consume obstacles, illusions
becoming the skeletons
of lace wings
honored in their sculptural ephemera;
in the end, they flutter,
blown free by gently pressed lips.
Light stretches into full expression,
at ease,
with plenty of room
to move.

life carries me

if you reach for me
i probably won’t be there-
relationship with the invisible,
the resounding bell,
jubilant and soft,
rings..
no asking for the infinite
from you
or anyone else-
beyond the expected
belonging begins..
done with looking
outward
for you to meet me
i surrender
to something so much bigger
life carries me.
with no better partner
in all the world, a hand always to hold,
i’m drawn inward,
in a spiral inscribing
what has no bounds-
you’ll come and go
and i’ll continue..
gift me with your presence,
and i, you with mine,
the momentary dance,
timeless,
one heart and another,
breath
unto breath, spinning on

Silly humans

≈ Comments Off on Silly humans

How scared we are of being
meaningless
unwanted,
Rushing to make our accomplishments
known.
False identities choke us.
Silly humans.
These doings
haven’t anything to do
with our goodness.
They are nice
maybe,
or great
even,
perhaps amazing, delightful, honorable
and expressive of our innate beauty
but essence is not
a woman who’s heart we must fight for,
or a man whose eye we must catch,
or the nodding approval of our father,
or the celebration,
finally,
of the person we are
thrown by everyone that matters to us
(for better or worse)
because
really
the breath holding us to life
and back from death
already understands exactly
how powerful
loving and precious it is.
And it is us.
Try relaxing into that.

I come before you

I come before you
Naked
caring not what you think,
whether my frown displeases you,
my tears scare you,
my laughter delights you,
my ecstasy draws you,
or that the tenderness of my heart
is familiar as the surface of the moon,
for we will all be dust in the end,
hopefully becoming,
long before that day,
not just fully alive but
luminous.
