Where no thing matters

Who ever taught you
your life is worth so little?
Not meaning your stuff,
your interests, your thoughts-
those are unimportant-
but You.
Life creates nothing less than Itself.
You shine
from your eyes, your smile,
each inspiration.
Where no thing matters,
we all meet here,
and the step of your bare foot,
the mark of your passing,
carries bliss forward.
Funny to question worth
of the rising sun.

life carries me

if you reach for me
i probably won’t be there-
relationship with the invisible,
the resounding bell,
jubilant and soft,
rings..
no asking for the infinite
from you
or anyone else-
beyond the expected
belonging begins..
done with looking
outward
for you to meet me
i surrender
to something so much bigger
life carries me.
with no better partner
in all the world, a hand always to hold,
i’m drawn inward,
in a spiral inscribing
what has no bounds-
you’ll come and go
and i’ll continue..
gift me with your presence,
and i, you with mine,
the momentary dance,
timeless,
one heart and another,
breath
unto breath, spinning on

Convincing Storyteller

Were I still to believe this tear
to be everything,
All would be lost.
Sorrow that swallowed the world-
the familiar swimming channel.
Invisible were the rainbows
forming
in minute globes of salt water
from my own eyes.
Illusion is a convincing storyteller.
Were I still to believe,
I could not consider that, perhaps,
I am as much a fascination for the juncos,
as they for me.
Laughter pushes streams down
pink cheeks
too.
And how it does bubble up~

Bring the Storm

The invisible movements
bring the storm.
The branches respond, as do the greenest grasses;
Faces of hidden ones twitch,
their noses active to the shift-
they need not see,
they know.
Bring the dry in from approaching rain,
place that needing purification
out to wash
in these sky rivers.
The small things, they come
and come and come,
and in the release of their pleasure
more space is created.
Just as, in the endings,
(for they come
and come and come),
the freeing makes room for more.
These tides rise and fall,
rise and fall,
in me
in you,
let us rejoice in the perfect imperfection,,
We’ve always one another
to hold and
let go…

I reside

I reside between fire and water-
air and earth, the circular cradle.
I am the mountain lion
bounding to the glass you stare through,
meeting your gaze to say, Yes,
do not doubt,
it is you I am here for.

After sleeping a century last night,
and meeting day with wet mud toes,
twisting wind brings nuthatches to the branches overhead,
chattering amongst themselves as they swing round,
unbound hair, extensions of the tree,
while new grasses grow,
in a morning when scents sound
of Spring.

Spiral of Fire

Ever an unfinished thought,
a spiral of fire always itself but shifting
not searching for ends or outcome,
Words are the paints,
they wiggle jumble stretch wink,
and
Poke-
That green, again?
Nodding in recognition,
Blown together by insufficiency,
thinking that this will flow into that will mold
into Who knows…
the final painting, ephemeral
as this gasp for air
