In the Labyrinth

A little lost
in the labyrinth..
Come
I say
Come…
The unpaved road you walk-
soft powder underfoot and
bowl of sky-
was not given.
It belongs to you,,
yours,
forever,
yours,,
Hear what must be
understood-
this separation you identify with,
that cracking glass,
you have let it define you..
Come forth
Come forth,
with each step a prayer
and release.
The beating in your chest
is my rhythm,
No difference
No difference
between

medicine of Silence

Were her voice
silenced
the medicine of Silence
would stop at the sand on which it breaks,
the drum of night unable to find its way
from heartbeat past her lips..
Our shore is one and the same,
the Ocean
our origin and return…
For the ears attuned
the music will be heard,
again and again
dancing bodies will join,,
The rugged journey along coastline and mountain ridge
not
for naught.
From formless to form
we are instrument.
Standing on peak and cliff,
we are moved.

Spider

Layers of tree bark,
braided pale paper wood,
and
A hole,
dark, deep, easily unseen..
Web strands whisper her presence,
then spiral thickly in
towards silence and no light.
Blowing gently through the open door,
she tucks her black shiny body away
from uninvited wind.
Disturbance not intended,
clarification made.
Spider~
graceful, delicate,
quiet, hidden, fast and capable weaver,
Why greeted with such fear?
Welcoming your power, fascinated,
held in awe,
Fear crawls, courage flies-
Let’s alter that and dangle from silken threads
of our own making.

For those who left,
I now know,
I asked you to go;
And the rivers of tears,
the endless ocean of grief and sorrow,
my hand-written invitation
welcoming the fire.
Cleaved in two-
rock, split-
through those openings
water washed and sculpted
hollowed out and
slowly
re-formed this being
whose heart burned
and broke
over and over and over,
tumbling and grating in wave
after wave,
until
breath narrowly returned
from a final shattering
freeing a Self
whose unalterable joy
demanded release.

In the reaching

If, in the reaching,
you fall,
you’ll always be caught.
It just may hurt.
What of it?
Learning grabs you and
eventually
you’ll find
what you seek isn’t
out there,
so you’ll reach inward
and falling into your Self
means
infinite soft landings.

Light & Land

21 Monday Apr 2014

Light & Land

All we’re searching for, all we’re ever really seeking, is union with Self and Spirit. That’s the journey. The rest is the splendor of the living path of discovery. Embracing it all is the delight. And it begins with ourselves.

the travelers need not search for one another,

the finding is effortless.

as the dust gathers on shoe laces

and tread wears to nothing,

we walk the same roads, admiring

the same sky.

i look, you see, earth rolls

through invented time and the incredible mastery

of chaos.

come to me. we are but flecks,

motes in sunlight, fragile

and measureless.

if my rhythm and yours

coincide

there’s no telling

what we might become.

When the experiences are disparate,
scattered
dispersed,
and a question of what is real,
drops in,,

a giggle ascends..
Hovering in no need,
that land of plenty,
the inquiry disintegrates-
oil on adhesive-
with full featherweight of unimportance.

Dreamwalking.
the threads, web trance of a building spider,
these are the delivery, the shaping,
the invisible connection.
Nothing more-
All is robust,
full,
celestial

Spider continues her common,
unseen
practice..
Welcome, magician.

Swaying in transition

Elton John, “Daniel,” plays in my ears, a random and surprising song to hear now, here. It compliments, somehow being both odd and comfortable. A familiarity washing on the shores of completely new surroundings and circumstances- I’m on the move but waiting, in that strange milieu most people tend to hate, or, at least, face with impatience. Buenos Aires, for an instant, and on to the next foreign place in a few hours. I find extravagant possibility in the in-between, where my feet aren’t planted anywhere, having places to go but no ability to go there and, still, knowing I will. Sitting motionless while movement is imminent. It’s like an extended sneeze caught in the nose- tickling and buzzing, impending release held back but due. Expectant and delayed. Yes, swaying in transition again…

Undiscovered Country

Pink cloud tops,
Spanish and boots,
chocolate, leather, and
a withering of childhood need
in an undiscovered country.
Initial steps on a rocky path-
unsteady footing in drying wind,
arms wrapped around a sandbag
of understanding.
All yesterdays have washed away,
a surprising falsehood
captured in spotlight,
the soothing and familiar way a rut.
A task of magnitude
and inevitability ahead,
steep and rugged,
reaching skyward.
With stirring acceptance,
the direction chosen.
